3d printer has stronger manufacturing strength

Feb 19, 2023

1. Zero skill manufacturing

Traditional craftsmen need to become apprentices for several years to master the required skills. Large-scale production and computer-controlled manufacturing machines have lowered their skill standards, but traditional manufacturing machines still require skilled professionals to adjust and calibrate the machines.

The 3d printer gets various instructions from the design file and makes similarly complex objects. 3d printers require less professional skills than injection molding machines. Non-skilled manufacturing has opened up a new business model that can bring new production processes to people in remote environments or extreme conditions.

2. Non-space, portable manufacturing

In terms of unit production space, compared with traditional manufacturing machines, 3D printers have stronger manufacturing strength. For example, an injection molding machine can only make objects much smaller than itself. On the contrary, a 3D printer can make objects as large as its printing table.

After the debugging of the 3D printing device, the printing device can move freely, and the printer can make larger objects than itself. The higher processing capacity per unit space makes 3d printers suitable for home or office use, because they require less physical space.

3. Reduce waste by-products

Compared with traditional metal manufacturing technology, 3d printers produce fewer by-products when manufacturing metal. The consumption of traditional metal processing is staggering, and 90% of metal raw materials are abandoned in factory workshops. 3d printing consumes less when making metal. With the development of printing materials, "net forming" manufacturing will become a more environmentally friendly processing method.
